About Michelle
I have loved nutrition since childhood and remember asking my mom to buy me nutrition magazines at the store as a young girl. Later in life, I returned to school to pursue a Master's degree in nutrition. I believe nutrition knowledge is my gift and I have always been driven to serve others, so it is very natural for me to be a dietitian. I have seen the devastation of chronic illness in the clinical realm and I want to help others with prevention. I have been healed of several health issues using nutrition principles, and I help family and friends to get to the root of their health issues as well. I am a mom of three daughters and also have 4 grandchildren, a dog and a cat. I live in Colorado and try to get outside as much as possible, spending a lot of time at the 3D archery range or walking my dog. I am always searching for creative ways to cook and bake gluten and dairy free, having a family member with Celiac, and being intolerant of gluten and dairy myself.
Approach to care
My approach to care has always been baby steps. I want to see you succeed and I believe small and manageable steps add up to significant outcomes. This approach is also sustainable and is a lifestyle change rather than a quick fix. My passion as a dietitian is to walk alongside my patients in their journey, using my years of experience and education to guide them. The goal for my patients outcome is that they simply function better in their day to day lives in their home and work, with improved vitality, and removing or significantly reducing the burden of not feeling well.
Your first session with Michelle
In our first session, my intention is to get to know you through learning about your health history and what your personal health goals are. These can be measurable, such as improving lab values like an A1C. Also, this can include behavioral or logistical obstacles like lack of motivation and energy, time constraints, or just lack of knowledge in moving forward. Together we will take all of this information into account to develop a realistic plan of action to move towards your personal health goals.
