About Michelle Lynn
As a dietitian and diabetes educator for around 30 years, I have lived through many seasons of life as a young single person, wife with children, single mom, and now a single post-menopausal empty nester. My own health challenges deepened my compassion and respect for my patients. I have had seasons where healthy habits were an easy choice and seasons where I was hanging on by a thread. I have learned that life can be hard, but we don't have to do it alone. I value progress over perfection by taking the next best step with a sense of humor and some grace. Fun fact about meā¦.. I never met a chocolate I did not like. Professionally, I have helped people manage diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, & Gestational Diabetes), kidney disease, weight, heart disease, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. I also had the pleasure of helping individuals just feel better, prevent disease, and achieve optimal pregnancy outcomes. I would love to work with you on your health journey.
Approach to care
Your roadmap will be centered around your goals, lifestyle, abilities, and limitations. You will be in the driverās seat choosing your destination. I will help you identify the best route to get there and help you navigate it through education, skill building, accountability, encouragement, and other tools in my toolbox. Road blocks or challenges are expected, but I will help you navigate any needed detours. We will explore 4 pillars of health that influence each other and your overall health. They include nutrition, sleep, stress management, and movement. This holistic approach can be more effective than focusing on nutrition alone. You will learn to establish realistic routines that lead to long term success. You will also learn how to be flexible when things donāt always go as planned. Itās not what you are doing 20% of the time that makes a differenceā¦.itās the other 80%. Over time, you will feel empowered and confident to navigate your health journey on your own.
Your first session with Michelle Lynn
We will spend the first few minutes getting to know each other and how we can best work together. Then I will ask some clarifying questions to help me understand your goals, priorities, lifestyle, and health history. It would be helpful, but not required, if you have access to data relevant to the reason you are seeking nutrition therapy (examples: labs, weight, blood pressure). I will provide any needed education before we establish 1 to 3 realistic action steps and a plan for following up. So have your calendar ready. Keep in mind that long term success is built on small actionable steps over time. I look forward to working with you.
