About Michelle
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with 30+ years of experience in clinical settings at major municipal hospital centers including Bellevue Hospital, New York Presbyterian, and NYU Langone Health. I have worked in specialty care centers including Pediatrics, Women with Disabilities, Cancer Care, Gastrointestinal Disease, and Diabetes. At New York University's Student Health Center, I currently work with students from all over the world, using my diverse clinical experience to provide individualized and supportive care. I taught as an Adjunct Professor in Dietetics at SUNY Suffolk County Community College and at CUNY LaGuardia Community College. I have a strong commitment to my profession and to passing on my knowledge, so that others might learn how to use food as a way to prioritize health and wellbeing. I received my BS in Dietetics, Food, & Nutrition from CUNY Lehman College and my MPH in Public Health Nutrition from the University of North Carolina.
Approach to care
I am passionate about the use of food to support health and wellness. I believe that the body has an intuitive knowledge on how to use the ingredients provided from food to keep itself in top working order. It is my job to help you rediscover your way toward the food that works best for your body. I make use of my strong clinical background to use as a starting point in providing the care that is Medical Nutrition Therapy.
Your first session with Michelle
The first session is a time when I will gather information about you, such as your health and diet history, your nutrition goals, and how I can be of service to you. It will also be a time when we will get to know each other and determine if we might be a good fit. During this visit, we will determine a time frame for reaching your goals and I will provide you with some suggestions to try before the time of our next meeting.
