About Michelle
Hi! I'm Michelle Rossi, Registered Dietitian. I have been in the field for almost 9 years and have dedicated my career to working in the clinical setting. I have been in long-term care facilities for nearly 6 years of my career, working with elderly and chronically ill patients and focusing on individual nutrition goals and interventions to complement their stages in life. For the past 3 years, I've worked in the acute-care setting, growing my knowledge in a variety of disease states throughout various stages. My initial intention of becoming a dietitian was to focus on sports nutrition and medical wellness; with that being said, I am now looking to broaden my scope towards wellness and counseling by using the tools and knowledge I have earned throughout my career. I am here to help you!
Approach to care
My philosophy for patients is ADDING more food and nutrients, not subtracting! I steer clear of telling my patients to completely eliminate something in their diet. Instead, I will always try to find ways for you to modify something you currently enjoy, or just add something to your meals to make it more satiating and nutrient-dense. I am not about fad diets, because they will not yield long-term success.
Your first session with Michelle
First, I would like to get to know YOU! What brought you here today? What knowledge do you already have about nutrition that we can build upon? What's your medical history? What's your lifestyle like? What are your hobbies? Do you have a support system? What has worked for you in the past? What hasn't worked for you in the past? The best way I will guide you is by getting to know and understand you. Once I get to know you better, we will be able to establish personal interventions to help you achieve your nutrition goals. With long-term habits, we will work together and set you up for long-term success!
