About Micki
Hi there! I am Licensed and Registered Dietitian currently residing in North Carolina- originally from the Midwest where I received both an undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Southern Illinois University and a Master's Degree in Dietetics from Eastern Illinois University. Originally unsure of what I wanted to study, a personal nutrition course at my local community college, changed not only my personal relationship with food and nutrition (I was like who knew that what we ate affected so mo much in our bodies and even how we felt mentally), but lead me to a career and personal mission to help others discover the power of food and nutrition on our whole selves! From one extreme to the other I have been there when it comes to food and nutrition or lack there of. My own personal experience along with my education and passion fuels me to help others like you Improve their health and quality of life through food!
Approach to care
My approach to care is inclusive yet individualized. Everyone in unique and their care should be too. One size does not fit all (no matter what the tag says). I will meet you where you are at and together we will work to meet your goals. We can even work to create those goals together. I want you to feel empowered throughout your care and wellness journey. I will be there to support, guide, and encourage you every step of the way providing evidence based care.
Your first session with Micki
In the first session we will take some time to get to know each other and what brings you to Nourish. Knowing your WHY is an important part in the journey together. Don't worry. The session will not be daunting or too heavy (unless that is your style and what you). We will talk about current habits and what you hope to gain from your sessions and care and begin to build a foundation of care and plan together to reach your goals.
