About Mikaela
Hi, I’m Mikaela — a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with 6+ years of experience helping others develop realistic and sustainable nutrition habits. I earned my degree in Nutritional Sciences from Penn State, where my passion for nutrition began after navigating my own journey with IBS. That personal experience shaped the compassionate and practical approach I bring to my work today. I love staying active, and recently found a new love for boxing — it’s become both my stress relief and my fun challenge. I live in California with my husband, who is in the Army, our three year old son Eli, and our very energetic boxer (the dog — not the sport this time!) and rabbit who keeps us all entertained. My philosophy is simple: nutrition should support your life, not complicate it — and I’m here to make it feel doable, personal, and real.
Approach to care
My work has focused on helping individuals manage chronic health conditions while still enjoying food and life. I’ve spent much of my career caring for every age from infant to elderly, which has shaped my belief that nutrition should be practical, supportive, and personalized to real life. I meet people where they are and help them build habits that feel good and last.
Your first session with Mikaela
During our first session, we’ll take time to get to know you — your current eating patterns, daily routines, and the behaviors that shape your relationship with food. We’ll talk about what feels challenging right now, whether it’s time, stress, medical concerns, motivation, or anything else that may be getting in the way. From there, we’ll work together to create a realistic plan centered around small, sustainable changes — not restrictive rules or all-or-nothing goals. My focus is on helping you build habits that feel attainable and supportive in your everyday life, so you can move toward better health without feeling overwhelmed.
