About Millie

Hi, I’m Millie Hunter, a registered dietitian who works with people struggling with eating disorders or disordered eating. I currently work at a residential eating disorder facility, where I provide nutrition therapy across all levels of care. I’ve worked with clients with anorexia, bulimia, ARFID, OSFED, orthorexia, and binge eating disorder. I am passionate about helping people who feel stuck in the diet and binge cycle, who feel out of control around food, or who worry they would never stop eating if they gave themselves permission.

Approach to care

My approach is rooted Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size principles. (In fact, I’m currently pursuing a certification as an Intuitive Eating Counselor.) The following Naomi Wolf quote practically sums up my "why" for helping others: ā€œDieting is the most potent political sedative in women's history; a quietly mad population is a tractable one... It keeps us too hungry, too fixated on our bodies, and too caught up in the minutiae of our eating regimens to focus our energies on changing the world.ā€ I want to help you reclaim that energy and put it toward what matters most to you in your life.

Your first session with Millie

Our first session is all about getting to know you! I'll ask you to tell me about yourself and your current interests, goals, and life situation. We’ll talk about what’s been going on with food and your body, your biggest barriers, and what you want to work on. I’ll ask about your diet history, current eating patterns, feelings around your body, and past treatment experiences if you’ve had them. There’s no judgment here. It’s okay if you feel unsure or nervous. You just have to show up, and we’ll go from there.
