About Miriam

Hi! I'm Miriam. I've been a registered dietitian for over 15 years, serving a variety of patients from young adults to the elderly, including pregnant women. I have worked extensively with people with chronic kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, and helped patients manage their weight in the context of treating specific medical conditions and improving their overall health. I use my knowledge of nutrition and chronic disease in my volunteer work as well, where I cook meals for people undergoing medical treatment, especially those in need of a specialty diet. Outside of work, I'm an avid cook and bread baker, mom, dog lover, and voracious reader.

Approach to care

My passion is helping you achieve your health goals while still including foods you love in your life. I follow a non-diet, all-foods-can-fit approach to nutrition. My goal is to help you stress less about what you eat. I will work with you to set goals in small steps, so you can see your many successes along your health journey.

Your first session with Miriam

Because all my recommendations are customized to you, I will need to learn a bit about your medical history, your preferences, your schedule and all the things that influence your nutrition related habits. We will talk about what you are hoping to gain from meeting with a dietitian, and any previous nutritional counseling you may have had. We will also set a couple short-term goals to start.
