About Morgan
Hi, my name is Morgan Davis, and I am so excited to work with you! I live in central, VA in the foothills of the Blue Ridge with my husband, 2 kiddos and rescue dog. I have worked in many settings over my 15+ year career as a Registered Dietitian including inpatient clinical, non-profit community, and owning my own sports nutrition practice. More recently, working at a psychiatry office and with my experience raising an Autistic child with related feeding challenges, I have shifted my focus to incorporating principals of nutrition psychiatry as well as supporting neurodivergent adults as well as children and their caregivers. I am passionate about being a part of a family's support system; my current focus areas include nutrition in neurodivergent populations and those with disabilities, nutrition psychiatry, nutrition guidance for families with picky eaters, women's health, nutrition in aging, sports nutrition and general wellness.
Approach to care
There is no one else quite like you! I love taking an individualized approach to supporting your desired health outcomes. We will take all your unique qualities into consideration when creating your nutrition care plan. This includes your medical history, social preferences, food preferences, cooking experience (and desire), readiness to make changes and more. When working with children, I will work closely with the parents/caregivers as part of the care team to allow for optimal outcomes.
Your first session with Morgan
In the first session, I will be taking a deep dive into the things that make you you! We will complete a comprehensive nutrition assessment, and as we become acquainted, I will be learning about the factors contributing to your food, nutrition, and lifestyle habits. We will discuss your desired health outcomes and reasons for seeking nutrition counseling. From there we will come up with long term goals, but will also create a few specific nutrition strategies to get you on your way to goal achievement. The first session will serve as a foundation to building a solid working relationship and with each follow up, we will build upon progress with more bite-sized strategies as you are ready.
