About Najwa
I graduated from the University of Florida obtaining my bachelors degree in Food Science & Human Nutrition with a Dietetic Specialization. GO GATORS!!! I completed my Dietetic Internship at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA where I was exposed, and introduced to working in the various fields of Nutrition, such as clinical, food service, public health, and nutrition related research. I later completed my Masters degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida, and later obtained a Doctoral degree in Clinical Nutrition from the University of North Florida. I feel fortunate to have had great experiences throughout my career. Not only have my experiences allowed me to work with patients with various disease states and age-groups, but also allowed me to grow and learn from a variety of settings (i.e., Pediatrics, Critical Care-Enteral Nutrition Support, WIC/Nutrition, Management, Geriatrics/Homecare).
Approach to care
I strive to provide evidenced-based Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and patient-centered care with a compassionate approach. I take the time to listen to my patients, and complete a thorough chart review to better meet the needs of my patients. I aim to serve as a nutrition resource and coach to aid patients to achieve their health goals.
Your first session with Najwa
In the first session I desire to get a thorough diet history, and take the time to get to know you. I will complete a thorough nutrition assessment utilizing the guidelines of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Nutrition Care Process (NCP). We will work together to establish a plan of care, and set SMART goals to work towards for desired improved health outcomes.
