About Natalie
Natalie Van Beek is a Licensed and Registered Dietitian based in Chicago, Illinois. While Natalie has worked with a wide variety of individuals with diverse health conditions, it was not too long after she began her work as a registered dietitian that Natalie discovered her passion for helping those suffering with eating disorders or disordered eating patterns repair their relationship with food.
Approach to care
Natalie understands that for those working through disordered eating patterns or an eating disorder, there is oftentimes a missing mind-body connection. Natalie believes it is imperative to work with patients to reconnect the mind and body to repair ones' healthy relationship with food, and doing so in a way that aligns with their lifestyle and personal values. Natalie approaches food and eating from a non-diet perspective, using Intuitive Eating principles and works with you from a weight neutral standpoint.
Your first session with Natalie
In your first session, you and Natalie will talk through a nutrition assessment where she will ask a wide variety of questions to gain insight and understanding into your medical history, nutritional habits, and lifestyle-getting to know you, the whole person. The initial session is a time to talk through and get a better understanding of your food- and nutrition-related goals, as well as to create a safe space for you to start on the journey of exploring your relationship with food. Upon working through the assessment together, you and Natalie will collaborate on one or two actionable steps to focus on between sessions.
