About Nathan

Hello and welcome! I’m Nathan. A Registered Dietitian of 5 years, my background lies largely in nutrition education outreach in community, scholastic and public health sectors. Through my work, I’ve come to understand the give-and-take (and-take-and-take) dynamic that exists between health and the various demands of day-to-day life. Navigating, and overcoming, the barriers this dynamic presents, has become my expertise, identifying and inventing tactics through which individual health can be personally defined and actively achieved, without neglecting responsibilities or compromising quality of life. Food is delicious and should be enjoyed. It can be, and together, it will be, all while working towards whatever you want to achieve. Our work as a team will honor food and flavor, prioritizing the latter to preserve the literal spice of life as we learn to practice progress and advance towards long-lasting change.

Approach to care

Whatever it is that brought you to Nourish, be it condition management, health goals, or just an interest in exploring the link between diet and wellness, I strongly believe you can do it, and I can assist you in doing so. Together, we’ll navigate your relationship with food, progressing towards your objectives by making sustainable changes that won’t just aid you in achieving success now, but in maintaining your success long term. My role in our partnership is in making you feel empowered, equipping you with the tools and knowhow you need in finding your definition of health, and reminding you that the ability to grow and improve is something you already innately possess. Change of this sort may not be easy, but I’m confident that it can and should be delicious, and that the enjoyment we derive from good food doesn’t have to be compromised or sacrificed in pursuit of your goals.

Your first session with Nathan

In our first session, we’ll start the process of getting to know one another. Just as nutrition is a highly individualistic science, we each possess our own personal histories that shape who we are and how we eat. In our introductions, I’ll introduce myself and answer any initial questions you may have. I’ll come with plenty of my own, including what brought you to Nourish, and what you hope to get from our sessions. From there, we’ll identify our first set of goals, the beginning steps to what will continue to grow and evolve into your own personally tailored care approach. No need to prepare or practice, just come ready to talk food for foods’ sake and share your truth. Talk soon.
