About Nicholas
I have been a Dietitian for 24 years, working in a variety of settings including outpatient counseling, acute (hospital ICU), long-term care and dialysis. These experiences have provided me the opportunity to increase my knowledge of a variety of disease states and the subsequent nutritional adjustments that are required. I am excited to use this experience to help you reach your goals. I will go at whatever pace is comfortable for you, taking my time and answering any questions you may have. I will explain how certain dietary adjustments will impact your health. On a personal note, my wife and I both practice healthier eating habits and apply them to our children's diets as well. I look forward to answering your questions and helping you achieve your health and dietary goals!
Approach to care
I believe that nutrition counseling requires not just diet advice, but a constant reminder of the main, primary, long-term goal. In addition, healthier eating practices should not be a burden. People should be confident that they can eat “cheat” foods at times without it disrupting their progress. Furthermore, discussions about diet should be fun, laid back and enjoyable. I like to keep sessions light-hearted, going at the pace of the client and answering any questions along the way!
Your first session with Nicholas
We'll begin by reviewing your medical history and any lab work or biometrics you have, so we understand the full picture. From there we'll set short-term, realistic goals and discuss meal and snack ideas that fit your preferences and routine. You don't need to have everything figured out beforehand. Expect a relaxed conversation at your pace, with time for questions and a couple of clear next steps to get you moving forward confidently.
