About Nicolette
Hi, I’m Nicolette—a registered dietitian, diabetes warrior, and food freedom advocate! Being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 13 and having navigated my own struggles with disordered eating, I know how overwhelming food can feel. That’s why I’m passionate about helping others break free from food guilt, find balance, and truly thrive—whether you’re managing diabetes, healing your relationship with food, or both. Let’s make peace with food and fuel a life you love!
Approach to care
I believe in the power of small, gradual changes—especially when it comes to food choices and habits. Trying to change everything at once can feel overwhelming and often isn’t sustainable. While the journey to better health is exciting (and it truly is!), I’ve found that making small adjustments helps build lasting habits and creates momentum for continuous improvement. I’m incredibly grateful to have discovered and embraced intuitive eating in my own life—it has become the foundation of my approach to nutrition. Even the healthiest foods can be overeaten, and just because something is nutritious doesn’t mean there are no limits. That’s where intuitive eating plays a crucial role, helping us reconnect with our natural hunger and fullness cues that we were all born with. This shift has freed me from the restrictive mindset around food, allowing me to develop a nurturing relationship with my body and empowering me to help others find the same peace within themselves!
Your first session with Nicolette
Our first session serves as an initial assessment where we’ll discuss your nutrition-related goals, review any available bloodwork, and go over any current medications or supplements you’re taking. We’ll also explore your physical activity, sleep patterns, food allergies or intolerances, and other key factors. Together, we’ll review your typical dietary intake and address any food-related challenges you may be facing, such as emotional or boredom eating, stress eating, or late-night snacking. Finally, we’ll develop a preliminary plan to set things in motion, establishing a few small, achievable goals to work toward in the meantime!
