About Olivia
Hi there! My name is Olivia and I am a non-diet, weight-inclusive dietitian ready to help you make peace with food and take your life back from diet culture. As an ex-dieter myself, I know how draining it is to constantly be worrying about food and your body. I believe that in order to heal your relationship with food, we need to identify your limiting beliefs and truly understand the why behind your behaviors. I also believe that to rebuild your confidence with food, your nervous system needs to feel safe. My goal as your dietitian is to provide a safe place to talk through your thoughts about food and body and offer guidance as you figure out what you want your relationship with food to look like. You are in the drivers seat, I am here to guide you on this journey to a happier and healthier you!
Approach to care
My approach to nutrition counseling is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and client-autonomy. My goal is to help you define what health and food freedom truly mean to you (not what diet culture or social media says) and then offer strategies that will help get you there. These strategies are rooted in evidence-based nutrition and psychology, because we cannot talk about your relationship with food without also talking about the emotional sides of food too. The plans we come up with together will consider both body and mind to help build your confidence around food and body image. If something doesn't work, we try something new. Everything we do in session will take into account your unique needs, experiences, and goals so we can set you up for the best success!
Your first session with Olivia
Our first session is all about getting to each other! I'll want to learn about your past and current struggles with food and body image as well as what your life is like (job, family, habits, etc). We will talk through your goals for working with a dietitian and why you want to start making changes. At the end, we'll save time to answer any questions or concerns you have and chat about what our nexts steps are. We may even begin setting some micro goals if you are ready! No topic is off limits, but you should NEVER feel pressured to share anything you don't feel comfortable talking about. My goal is to offer a safe and empowering space to talk about things you want to share and how I can best help you on your journey!
