About Olivia
Hey there! I’m Olivia Whitaker, a dietitian based in Greenville, SC. I’ve always had a curiosity for nutrition, due to my past experiences with food, nutrition and weight. I was a gymnast growing up then became a collegiate cheerleader. I was surrounded by body image and diet culture. I worked in a hospital setting where I also had the privilege of providing sports and wellness consults on the side for about 5 years. I then became pregnant I immersed myself into nutrition for pregnancy. For the past 3.5 years I have helped children all the way from newborns to teens and young adults. I have now dove into the world of online consults.
Approach to care
I tend to be more direct in my counseling and will hold you accountable. I also have a soft side to me and genuinely care about people. I understand that there is a lot of misinformation out there and I want to educate so that you will be able to understand nutrition and how foods work for you.
Your first session with Olivia
During an initial consult with me it is more of a get to know you and you get to know me type session. There is a lot of information gathering as far as history and discussion of what you are looking for from me. I tailor my sessions to what you are wanting to learn about and set goals that are appropriate and attainable for you.

Education
I received my bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina in Marine Biology. From there I was a dolphin trainer. Ultimately I had never thought of nutrition for a career. I found out about what a dietitian was and decided to get my Masters degree from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC in Nutrition. From there I did my dietetic internship through Winthrop as well.
Hobbies
When I’m not doing dietitian things, you can find me spending time with my boys aged 3 and 5. I help coach all the sports teams they are involved in along with going on hikes, bike rides, playgrounds etc. I have a love for the outdoors. I love connecting with people, whether it’s sharing stories about kids, pets or crazy everyday life.
