About Parker

Howdy! I’m Dr. Parker Gutjahr, PhD, RDN, LDN and I was born in raised in Dallas, TX. I received my BS in Nutritional Sciences from Texas A&M University and then went on to complete my MS/Dietetic Internship at Texas Woman's University. I recently completed my PhD in Nutrition from Texas Woman's University! I currently reside in Denton, TX with my husband, our 4-year-old daughter, and our dog. We are expecting a baby boy in September and are thrilled! I love running and have completed 8 full-marathons and 30+ half-marathons. I also enjoy strength training, biking, cooking, and baking. I can't wait to work with you!

Approach to care

My approach to care is very research-focused and individualized. Since I recently completed my PhD, I am up to date on all the current literature and will dive into topics needed. I believe that all foods fit, however, every person is unique, so I will ensure that you feel taken care of based on your specific needs. I will never recommend an intervention that is unrealistic for you. Think of me as your science- and food-loving cheerleader. I will be with you and rooting for you every step of the way!

Your first session with Parker

In our first session together, we will get to know one another so you feel right at home. We will complete a Comprehensive Nutrition Assessment. I will ask you about your goals, lifestyle, eating habits, exercise routine, stressors, medication/supplement usage, and any other information that is pertinent. We will work together to identify any barriers that may be hindering you and then discuss ways to move past them that are realistic and attainable for you. We will find ways to reach your goals while you are still able to enjoy your everyday life!
