About Payton

Hello, my name is Payton and I am a Registered Dietitian with over 7 years of experience in inpatient clinical care, outpatient nutrition counseling and employee wellness. I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with both my Bachelors in Dietetics and my Masters in Nutrition and Exercise. I am particularly passionate about educating and helping others reduce risk of, manage, or even reverse chronic disease. Other areas of expertise include metabolic health, glucose management, heart health and body composition change. I truly enjoy helping others feel their best which can include a better sense of empowerment, better energy, a clearer direction forward, improved confidence and more!

Approach to care

My approach to care centers around personalized, realistic and sustainable changes for you, based off your current life situation and goals. It will also center around education and "why" we are making the changes that we are. My approach also likes to focus on the process rather than the ultimate goal. I believe our goals will be achieved if we can stay the course with small, attainable habits that build over time leading to positive results. I strive to balance each situation with empathy and care while also providing accountability and understanding that sometimes when making positive health changes, priorities or allocation of time may require some level of "shifting".

Your first session with Payton

In our first session together, you can expect a relaxed chat spending time to get to know one another (not just me getting to know you), while also spending a good chunk of time ensuring I fully understand your health history, goals, expectations, life situation, barriers, and everything else that sets the stage for where you are at in your wellness journey and where you want to be. A very important piece of our conversation will also be centered around the realistic nature of these goals at this point in time (do they need adjusting?), what truly motivates you, and why your current goals are meaningful to you. From there, we will end the session with time for any additional questions you have and begin setting small, attainable goals and building the structure that will set you up for long-term health and well-being.
