About Pooja
Hi! I'm Pooja - an enthusiastic registered dietitian who found a passion for nutrition at the age of 16! Growing up, I was bullied by my peers and some family members for being overweight. As a young girl, this effected my self esteem and I tried all the things- crash dieting and endless Google searches of "how to lose weight really fast." One day, I stumbled upon the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics website, and found sustainable nutrition advice. After changing my eating habits and incorporating an exercise regimen, my life changed for the better and that is when my passion for nutrition was born. I believe in a more holistic approach to health. I believe in a comprehensive view of wellness that integrates: nutrition, mental well-being, physical exercise, and spiritual health. I am very passionate about plant based nutrition and believe that although its not necessary to follow a vegan/vegetarian diet, I do believe that increasing plant-based foods is beneficial overall.
Approach to care
My care philosophy is built on evidence and compassion. Together, we'll blend current science with your lived experience, meeting you where you are and co-creating a plan that fits your life. I practice with Health At Every Size principles and a holistic lens, listening for what matters most to you beyond calories. Youâll find me warm, nonjudgmental, and steady as we translate research into simple, sustainable steps. Education is a core part of our work, so youâll leave each session with clear, doable actions and the confidence to try them in your own routine.
Your first session with Pooja
Our first appointment is all about you. We'll begin by reviewing your medical history and any lab work or biometrics youâve had, then establish short-term goals that feel realistic and motivating. Weâll discuss your current eating patterns and your relationship with food in a warm, nonjudgmental space. From there, weâll draft a personalized plan that fits your tastes, schedule, and health needs, and weâll outline practical steps for the next week. You donât need to have it all figured out yet; this is a collaborative conversation and a solid starting point for lasting, sustainable change.
