About Prabha

I became a dietitian after struggling to diagnose food sensitivities at a young age taking me on a deep dive into nutrition and gut health. My career began with teaching culinary classes to kids, where their joy for food reignited my passion for it. I also created a nutrition-focused wellness program for a local police force to improve community health. Later, I worked as an outpatient dietitian in bariatrics and family medicine, specializing in weight management, diabetes, heart health, gut health, functional nutrition, and building a healthy relationship with food. Now, as a telehealth dietitian in Hawaii, Iā€™m able to support a larger community.

Approach to care

I take a holistic approach to care, considering how factors like lifestyle, environment, and stress impact overall health. I focus on providing functional nutrition and helping clients get to the root of their nutrition challenges using evidence-based guidance thatā€™s personalized to each individual. I offer practical tools like meal ideas while also emphasizing gentle nutrition strategies, such as honing in on hunger and fullness cues, understanding emotions around food, and improving oneā€™s relationship with eating. My goal is to empower clients with the knowledge and support they need to make lasting changes that align with their health goals and personal values.

Your first session with Prabha

During our first session, you can expect an introductory conversation where Iā€™ll ask a lot of questions to get to know you better. Weā€™ll discuss your past medical history, your current approach and feelings towards food, any symptoms or challenges you may be experiencing, and what has or hasnā€™t worked for you in the past. I want to understand your unique situation and what brought you to seek support. Together, weā€™ll identify both short-term and long-term goals to guide our focus as we work together to create a personalized plan that aligns with your health and wellness journey.
