About Rachael

Hi, I'm Rachael, MS, RD, LD, CNS. With 14 years as a Registered Dietitian, I earned a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) and an M.S. in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. I am both a board-certified Registered Dietitian (RD) and a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS). My professional experience is diverse, including roles with the Indian Health Service (IHS) and Tribal Health facilities. I have provided nutrition care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, precepted OUHSC students, led prenatal and postpartum education classes, and supported Chickasaw Nation community outreach programs such as Get Fresh! and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). As part of a military family, I have relocated from Oklahoma to California and now reside in Illinois with my husband and four children.

Approach to care

As a proud Native American, descended from Seminole and Cherokee ancestry, my care philosophy brings a deep cultural connection to my work. My personal and cultural background shapes my belief in the Native principle of "one-ness"--a holistic balance of mind, body, and spirit being essential to true wellness. I anchor plans in evidence-based nutrition while honoring your lived experience and culture. I practice with a Health At Every Size mindset, focusing on sustainable behaviors rather than quick fixes, and I help you build a flexible approach that fits real life. You'll find me empathetic and warm, ready to listen without judgment, and I'll translate research into practical steps we'll take together. My mission is to empower individuals through evidence-based nutrition strategies that honor both science and the whole-person approach--moving beyond conventional models to create meaningful, lasting change.

Your first session with Rachael

Our first appointment is all about you. We'll review your medical history, dive into your relationship with food, and establish short-term goals that feel doable. We'll look at lab work and basic biomarkers to ground our plan in your biology, and we'll begin co-creating a plan tailored to your needs. There's no pressure to have it all figured out in advance; you can come as you are, and I will meet you there. Together we'll set a clear path you can actually follow.
