About Rachael
I am a Registered Dietitian and Board-Certified Advanced Diabetes Educator. Originally from the farmlands of Illinois, I currently live in the Alaskan mountains where I am working towards my Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition. I believe the most sustainable "diet" is not a diet at all. I will help you build a flexible, real-life way of eating that fits your routines, goals, and personal preferences. My focus will be on food sequencing and food synergy-the balance between carbohydrates, fats, and protein. I specialize in diabetes care that supports glucose management and a positive relationship with food. I also bring experience in sports nutrition with guidance on fueling during performance and recovery.
Approach to care
My approach is a personalized, collaborative and judgement-free one. We will focus on habits that are realistic, enjoyable, and effective for the long haul. We will further dive into the education side of nutrition so that you can learn about the "why" behind your choices.
Your first session with Rachael
We will start by exploring your interests, experiences that brought you here, and the areas you want to focus on. We will review your eating patterns, sleep, stress, activity, and routines. We will put together a personalized plan that aligns with your needs and expectations. Together, we will choose 1-2 habits to prioritize and create realistic next steps. My goal after our first session is that you feel supported and confident in applying your plan right away.
