About Rachael

Rachael is a dietitian with over 5 years of experience. She has enjoyed a successful and rewarding career, primarily working in the clinical setting of a hospital. During her experience within the hospital setting, Rachael has had the opportunity to diversify her skills in areas including: Nutrition Education (diet culture versus biochemistry), Diabetes Type II, Disordered eating patterns, Binge-Eating Disorder (Rachael is not currently taking clients with restrictive food intake disorders, such as ARFID, anorexia nervosa or binge-purge disorders), General Wellness, Chronic Health Concerns, Chronic Dieting, Weight Concerns, Mindful & Intuitive Eating.

Approach to care

Rachael's goal as a provider is to create a judgement-free space where you can communicate the needs that matter most. She enjoys the conversations that make up each session, and she welcomes your authentic self as you share your story with her. She is confident that you are the expert when it comes to your body. She enjoys working with you to understand what motivates you to achieve any goal, and she uses an add-in approach to help you set small and realistic targets as you work together towards the longer-term objective(s). She believes that sometimes, a "bare minimum" action plan is required to continue creating a system of consistency without decreasing belief in one's self-efficacy.

Your first session with Rachael

In an initial visit, Rachael dedicates time to better understand where you’ve been, where you are, and where you want to be. This begins with a thorough nutrition assessment which includes learning about your medical history, nutrition and lifestyle habits, food preferences, current symptoms of concern, and health and nutrition goals. You will be able to ask questions and define what a successful counseling experience looks like. At the end of the first visit, you’ll leave with at least one actionable step to help move you closer to your health goals.
