About Rachel
A child of God, a wife, a mother, a dietitian. I am a registered dietitian nutritionist based in Amarillo, Texas, specializing in maternal and child health. With extensive experience in Early Life Nutrition, I am passionate about equipping women with the knowledge and tools to thrive during pregnancy and beyond. I have worked in pediatric nutrition managing infant weight, tube feeds and disease states such as cancer, food allergies, etc. for over 8 years. 4 years ago I added women's health to my expertise and have developed and delivered evidence-based talks and workshops covering topics from epigenetics/preconception nutrition, to pregnancy nutrition, postpartum breastfeeding needs, etc. with a focus on making complex science approachable and practical. my work blends clinical expertise with compassionate guidance, helping families build strong foundations for lifelong health. My goal is to not only be a part of your journey, but a partner in your journey.
Approach to care
I believes that the patient should be the center of their care and involved in the care planning process. This empowers patient while creating realistic interventions. I takes a food first mentality, using supplements only when necessary and encouraging whole foods but understanding that life does not always provide the perfect scenario and that flexibility is necessary. I encourage intuitive eating for all of her patients in order to create healthy boundaries and maintain a good relationship with food and body.
Your first session with Rachel
Think of your first session like meeting your primary care for the first time! I need to get to know you, your current habits, diet, preferences, etc. before I can give tangible recommendations. I ask many profound questions that allow patients to truly think about what they are willing to change vs. not change, allowing the patient and myself the week to truly consider what is best and the create goals and a care plan together on follow up.
