About Ranelle
Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Ranelle Hicks and I am a Registered Clinical Dietitian with over 35 years of experience in providing medical nutrition therapy and counseling for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Throughout my career I have worked in a variety of healthcare environments including psychiatric, renal and veteran's medical centers where I provided nutrition care for patients with diabetes, hypertension, obesity, renal disease and cardiovascular conditions.
Approach to care
Most recently, I served as a Renal Dietitian at Dialysis Care Center in Fremont, Michigan, and also worked part-time at Forest View Psychiatric Hospital in Grand Rapids. These roles allowed me to apply my expertise in individualized nutrition counseling and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and long -term health goals. What I enjoy most about my work is helping people make practical lasting changes through personalized nutrition programs. I believe that successful outcomes come from working hand in hand with patients--understanding their unique needs and building trust along the way.
Your first session with Ranelle
In the first session we will introduce ourselves and discuss reasonable goals to be established according to the patient's diagnoses. We will obtain a diet history. Discuss nutrition in relation to the patient and specific dietary needs in order to meet goals. All goals to be discussed and explained to patient.
