About Rebecca

Hello, my name is Rebecca. I became a dietitian because I was amazed by how food really is fuel for the body, and how the quality of our food can really dictate how our body does or doesn't function. However, before becoming a dietitian, I cooked professionally. I love food! Being a dietitian satisfies my inner nerd, my love for food and my passion for helping people.

Approach to care

I approach my work with a lot of compassion. I know struggles with food, body image and physical activity can carry a lot of stigma and therefore talking about these things can feel vulnerable. I want you to know that I honor that vulnerability and I am here to encourage you, not to judge or shame you. My purpose is to empower you so that you can feel confident with food, body image and physical activity. We do that by talking about your thoughts and feelings vs. me just giving you a meal plan. Our work together will be a lot deeper than nutrition education and me telling you what to eat.

Your first session with Rebecca

First sessions usually entail: 1) Discussing what brought you here and why you have sought out a dietitian. 2) Outlining your goals for our work together. 3) Talking about your history with food, body image and physical exercise as well as your physical and mental health. 4) Coming up with a plan to get you to your goals.

Hobbies

Making hygge a way of life- creating all the comfort, coziness and good vibes in life that I can. Being a dog/cat mom- I just like spending time with my 2 dogs and 2 cats (and my husband too, I guess). Art- I like watercolors and any craft project that piques my interest. Personal development and spirituality- I am always trying to learn and grow. Running, biking and rowing- I like completing Conqueror Challenges and I prefer working out indoors, less traffic and uneven surfaces to worry about. Plus, there is always a bathroom nearby.
