About Rebecca
I found a passion for nutrition in high school health class when I had a project to work on incorporating a healthy behavior into my life. I got assigned to eating a healthier diet, and during those few weeks, I felt a noticeable shift in my energy levels and mood. That sent me down a rabbit hole of researching nutrition and the role it plays in disease prevention/management and every part of our lives! Now, I am so happy to be able to share all of my knowledge and training to help others to use nutrition to their benefit. Outside of Nourish, I work as a pediatric dietitian in an outpatient clinic, where I see practically any kind of kid ages 0-18 who was referred to see nutrition! I grew up in Maryland before heading down to Florida for college. From there, I came to New Orleans for graduate school and fell in love with the city and have been here ever since! When I'm not working with clients, you can find me at one of our many events and festivals!
Approach to care
I take an anti-diet approach to nutrition, meaning that I will meet you where you currently are and work towards making sustainable shifts in lifestyle that fit into your routine! We will work together to set goals, identify roadblocks that you are running into, and come up with solutions to mitigate those roadblocks! I also know that there is a lot of confusing/conflicting nutrition information out there, so I love to be a resource for my clients to get their questions answered and be a reliable source for sorting the true information from the rest.
Your first session with Rebecca
In our first session, we will talk through what made you decide to book an appointment with a dietitian and the goals you are hoping to accomplish together. Then, we can tailor a plan to work towards achieving those goals moving forward! We will talk through what a current typical day of eating and drinking looks like and set a couple of goals to get started with before our first follow up appointment.
