Approach to care
I do everything in my power to set up my clients for success from day one! I'm not a fan of encouraging drastic changes in diet and lifestyle overnight*. Instead, I like to approach dietary changes incrementally because I find this approach generally results in patients being more successful in the long run. I'm also a huge proponent of the non-diet approach - I won't recommend following a specific diet, but will instead teach you how to build a well-balanced, nutrient-dense plate and practice intuitive/mindful eating. You'll never hear me tell you that you can't eat something*. Rather, I will encourage you to consume foods that are less in line with your health goals less often and in smaller quantities. Lastly, I will work with each client individually to determine what they personally are most motivated to change and focus my education on those areas. *These statements do not pertain to clients with celiac disease or food allergies/intolerances/sensitivities for your safety
Your first session with Regina
During our first session, I will ask you to tell me more about yourself - whether your married or have kids, what you do for a living - so I can get to know you better on a personal level. Then I'll ask you some questions about your medical history, diet, physical activity level, and nutrition goals before moving onto diet education.
