About Renee

Renee has been an RD since 2016. For the first 6 years of her career, she worked in a hospital providing Medical Nutrition Therapy across various populations, including those with diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, cancer, pre- and postnatal patients, and more. In 2022, she transitioned to counseling individuals with eating disorders, a long-standing passion and goal of hers. Renee's mission is twofold: to enhance individuals' health through informed nutrition choices and to guide them toward finding peace in their relationship with food, empowering them to embrace life to its fullest potential.

Approach to care

Renee feels that her clinical experience shed light on some important gaps in our healthcare system; in a culture often fixated on weight as the most important marker of health, our outdated health paradigms are not only unhelpful, but can do more harm than good. She practices through a weight-neutral lens, focusing on true biomarkers of health as well as emotional well-being. Renee aims to help others break free from diet-culture, and to build sustainable, healthy habits that promote longevity rather than a specific number on the scale. She believes it’s important to focus on foods that we can add to our diet to improve health, rather than foods we can take away.

Your first session with Renee

Your first session with Renee will focus on building rapport and helping her to understand your unique situation. She prioritizes practicing with empathy and insight, recognizing each client's individuality. It's essential for her to grasp not only your nutrition-related needs but also to comprehend your personality, circumstances, lifestyle, and past experiences to provide tailored assistance effectively. That being said, your first meeting may seem like a lot of questioning, but there's no need for you to come overly prepared—simply bring yourself, your answers, and an open mind for easy conversation.
