About Rick
Hi, I’m Rick. I’ve spent 30 years as a Registered Dietitian, weaving science with everyday life. I hold an MS and BS in Human Nutrition and a PhD in Management, and I practice in Phoenix, Arizona. My career spans private practice, research and academia, corporate wellness, sports nutrition, and community health. I’m a RD and a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and I’m grateful to help people build healthier, more joyful relationships with food. Outside of work I bike, swim, and hike, and I’m a former Ironman competitor. I’m glad you’re here.
Approach to care
Together, we’ll build a plan that blends current science with real life. I believe in evidence-based, compassionate care that respects your pace and your goals. We’ll translate nutrition science into practical steps, with clear actions and steady accountability, so you feel confident taking small, sustainable steps. I practice with a Health At Every Size mindset and a weight-neutral lens, focusing on behaviors, wellbeing, and longevity rather than a number on the scale. I treat you as a whole person whose mental, emotional, and physical health are connected, and I’ll educate you so you can decide what fits your life long term.
Your first session with Rick
Our first session is all about you. Think of it as a relaxed conversation where we review your medical history, current eating patterns, routines, and goals. We’ll explore your relationship with food in a nonjudgmental space and without pressure. You don’t need to have everything figured out yet. Together we will set 1 or 2 realistic goals and outline practical steps to start making progress. I’m here to support you and I’ll meet you where you are on this journey.
