About Rickelle
Hi! My name is Rickelle. I have been a dietitian for 9 years and specialize in medical nutrition therapy and sports performance nutrition coaching. My experience as a dietitian is almost exclusively in outpatient/private practice care, in-person group education (MNT, athletics, and workplace wellness), and academia. I am also a mom of two very active boys, so when I'm not working I am most likely at a school event, helping with homework, packing lunches and snacks, on a baseball field, at a hockey rink, or some other athletic event. Oh, and did I mention I LOVE food (and coffee)? Well, I do! And I want you to, as well :)
Approach to care
My approach is individualized, habit-focused, long-term, and root cause seeking. This means: I won't recommend the same strategies for everyone. We will work together to find what works best for your needs and preferences I will encourage you not to be hyper-focused on body weight and instead be focused on your habits, how you feel, and what other biomarkers of health look like I will encourage you to commit to nutrition therapy/coaching long-term. For best results, we need to modify your habits one at a time and make sure that these habits are maintainable. This takes time I will dig for the root cause of your symptoms because if we don't figure that out, they likely won't be resolved
Your first session with Rickelle
The first session will largely be an assessment. In order to help you to the best of my ability, I need to know about your medical history, dietary history, athletic history (if applicable), current nutrition and lifestyle habits, your goals, your challenges, things you've tried in the past that were successful and unsuccessful, etc. From here, I can create an effective, personalized plan of action for you, which essentially is new habits that you will actually be able to stick with long-term. At the end of the first session, we will go over a big-picture plan of action and set your first 1-3 goals to work on over the next 2-4 weeks.
