About Risa

Hi, I’m Risa! I’m a Registered Dietitian with 7 years of experience helping people improve their health through practical, personalized nutrition. My journey into the world of nutrition began during my global studies courses, where I learned about rates of childhood malnutrition around the worl. While completing my Master of Public Health, I came to understand that the U.S. faces its own serious nutrition-related challenges—and that discovery shifted my focus to helping individuals and communities here at home. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with adults from diverse backgrounds and life stages. I specialize in supporting those managing chronic conditions like kidney disease, heart disease, and liver disease. My approach is rooted in compassion, evidence-based care, and the belief that small, sustainable changes can make a big difference.

Approach to care

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition—everyone’s different, and that’s a good thing! I’m here to help you reach your health and wellness goals with a personalized, evidence-based approach that doesn’t focus on weight. I’m all about finding realistic, sustainable habits that fit your lifestyle, support your goals, and still let you enjoy the foods you love.

Your first session with Risa

In our first session, we’ll take some time to get to know each other and start building a trusting, comfortable connection. We’ll talk about what brought you to nutrition counseling and what you’re hoping to get out of it. I’ll also ask about your medical and family history, current eating habits, food preferences, allergies, lifestyle, and anything else that’s important to you—like cultural or personal values around food. From there, we’ll work together to create a plan that feels realistic, sustainable, and tailored to your goals.
