About Rita
I'm a Registered Dietitian with 24 years experience, 5 of those being in private practice. I hold a B.S. in Nutrition Management from Rochester Institute of Technology and completed my dietetic internship at the University of Buffalo. I'm currently taking courses to earn a certification in Integrative and Functional Nutrition, allowing me to provide even more personalized and holistic health guidance. As a Dietitian I have BOTH personal and professional experience with my own successful Weight loss journey and healing my IBS. As a teenager I struggled with being overweight, which led to my interest in a Nutrition and Dietetics career. I have maintained a 30+ lb. weight loss for over 20 years! My areas of expertise include: Weight management, Gastrointestinal Disorders (IBS, food sensitivities, food allergies), Low FODMAP, Vegetarian and Mediterranean diets, Intuitive & Mindful eating, Women's health (Peri-menopause/Menopause), Lab testing and Supplement management.
Approach to care
I believe each client is unique... by creating a personalized treatment plan based on symptoms, lifestyle & one's unique bio-makeup. I use a food as medicine approach to support health and wellness along with integrative nutrition & holistic methods in my practice. Additionally, I provide lifestyle interventions to prevent and/or treat chronic disease through diet and lifestyle changes. I also offer customized meal plans and a lifestyle medicine program for Weight management Clients. This program is designed to help with chronic health issues like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes and overweight/obesity.
