About Romaine

My nutrition philosophy was shaped by my upbringing in Guyana, South America, where whole foods were the foundation of health and community. This experience informed my evidence-based practice and culturally affirming approach to nutrition care. I deliver personalized counseling with empathy and accountability, supporting sustainable behavior change, through structure, without judgment.

Approach to care

My approach to care blends nutrition science cultural respect, compassion, and structural accountability. I create a space where clients feel safe, heard, and supported without judgment or shame. We focus on 1-2 realistic changes at a time, build, weekly micro goals, and develop practical skills like plate building, label reading, hydration, and paying attention to intake in a way that is not an additional burden.

Your first session with Romaine

Consider our first session to be your nutrition, "meet and map". We'll unpack your health history, current eating patterns, weight journey, labs, medication, hydration, movement, sleep, stress, food access, and barriers. You'll also share your culture, flavors you love, cooking, style, budget, and comfort foods so your plan feels real - not robotic. We'll set clear starter goals, calculate individualized calorie and macro targets, and build 1-2 focus habits to begin right away. You can expect to feel heard, guided, encouraged and equipped with a realistic week-1 action plan -no judgment, just direction.
