About Ruth

Ruthie is a person-centered dietitian with experience in cardiac rehab, long term care, nutrition graduate research, and fitness instruction. Ruthie's interest in nutrition began when she was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and IBS as a senior in college while on the pre-med track. Experiencing firsthand the transformative power of a healthy, holistic lifestyle led to her switching to nutrition as a career path. There is so much misinformation in the field of nutrition, and Ruthie was determined to be an advocate for the evidenced-based truth. Since then, Ruthie has had the honor of being a part of many people's journey to healthy & sustainable lifestyle changes.

Approach to care

Ruthie believes that everyone's path to healthy eating is going to look different and is excited to join you in cultivating an individualized nutrition plan. All of the evidenced-based recommendations in the world mean nothing if it isn't realistic for you. Ruthie is sensitive to your individual needs, preferences, and how certain medical conditions can make a healthy relationship with food challenging. Ruthie is ready and willing to provide personal accountability, support, evidence-based answers, and an empathetic heart.

Your first session with Ruth

In our first session, we will get to know and trust one another. We will review your medical history, food history, exercise history, sleep history, and stress management history. Then, we will work together to come up with the next best step that makes sense to YOU. In my experience, I have found that when we try to make multiple changes all at once, (as good as our intentions may be) the burden is almost always unbearable, and we end up abandoning the whole pursuit. Behavioral change is extremely difficult. Respecting the gradual process leads to real, lasting change that will improve your overall quality of life. You deserve to live your best life! Now let's get started :)
