About Ruth
Hi, I'm Ruth. I’m a Registered Dietitian with eight years of experience, and I earned my MS in Nutrition with a Public Health Emphasis from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. I’ve worked across clinical and hospital settings, in research and academia, and in food service, so I bring a practical, patient-centered view to how we approach eating in real life. I’m honored to hold CNSC, LDN, and RDN credentials, and when I’m not meeting patients where they are, you’ll find me cooking or baking, lifting weights, walking my dog, or reading for a book club.
Approach to care
Together, we'll build a care plan that respects science and your lived experience. My approach is evidence-based, yet deeply human, with empathy and warmth at every step. I’m direct and action-oriented, offering clear steps and accountability so you feel supported, not overwhelmed. I practice a weight-neutral, HAES-informed philosophy, focusing on sustainable habits and a healthy relationship with food and body rather than dieting drama. We’ll address the whole person, including sleep, stress, and daily routines, for lasting health.
Your first session with Ruth
Our first appointment is all about you. We’ll review your medical history, lab work and biometrics, and explore your goals in a calm, non-judgmental space. You don’t need to have everything figured out yet; think of it as a conversation that helps us map what matters most. We’ll set 1 or 2 short-term goals and outline practical steps you can start this week. Together, we’ll design a plan that fits your life and your pace.
