About Sam

Hi! I’m Sam - married, no kids (yet), but my house is basically ruled by four cats. My journey into nutrition started as a teenager after I crossed the 300-pound mark and realized I couldn’t fit into half my clothes anymore. I tried all the fad diets, chased quick fixes, and stressed over every bite. It wasn’t fun and it definitely wasn’t sustainable. Eventually, I learned that food doesn’t have to be the enemy. I rebuilt my relationship with eating, fell in love with the science behind it, and turned that passion into a career helping others do the same. Food and nutrition have become barbed-wire topics, tangled with trends, conflicting opinions, and misinformation. I’m passionate about cutting through that noise to make nutrition simple, practical, and sustainable for the people I work with. My goal is always to help others feel better, live healthier, and understand that eating well doesn’t have to be complicated or overwhelming.

Approach to care

Before joining Nourish, I worked as a fitness coach, online nutrition coach, and inpatient clinical dietitian. That mix taught me a lot - not just about nutrition science, but about real people, real struggles, and the importance of finding what actually works for each person. My approach is flexible, realistic, and built around you. We’ll take your goals, preferences, and lifestyle into account to create something that feels doable, not like another diet you have to “start over” on next week. I’m here to help you feel better, gain confidence, and make changes that actually stick.

Your first session with Sam

Our first session is about getting to know you and where you come from - think of it as a conversation, not a test. We’ll talk about your goals, your current habits, what’s worked (and what hasn’t), and anything else you want to share. I’ll listen, ask questions, and start putting together a plan that fits your life - not the other way around. You won’t leave with a rigid meal plan or a list of “foods to avoid.” Instead, you’ll walk away with a few clear, practical steps that’ll help you start feeling better right away. No judgment, no pressure - just a real plan for real life.
