About Samara

I have never doubted my pursued endeavors. In fact, from the age of twelve onward, I have felt destined for a career to aid others to assist those desiring to claim their personal right of health. I truly believe Food to be medicine, and that food should always be utilized as the first method of treatment. In fact, I attained the realization that there is no one diet for all after healing my body from hypothalmic amenorrhea (no period), which I suffered from for 8 years. Rather, every human is a work-in-progress, united by not only the necessity of food as a fuel source but also the beauty of flaws. This necessity is a language that is not our own. Rather, it is a language substantial to all humans; the language of needing food to exist on a whole. This is the reason I pursued a career in the dietetics field: to enlighten others to the universality of food to ensure this language crosses all cultural and language barriers; to assure that food be seen as fuel and not a fixation of fear.

Approach to care

As a Registered Dietitian, Birth Doula, and Postpartum Doula, I truly believe prevention to be the best medicine, which can only be achieved through willing participation. I now believe my purpose in life is to assist others on their own journey towards health, as health is the vital essence, in which we are all deserving to feel good. Health is the equilibrium of the individual entities of spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental energies aligned that will then forge sustained happiness allowing for a joyful life. Subsequently, my personal purpose deeply aligns with promotion of a "foods first" approach by meeting clients where they are at. Together, we will create a realistic and sustainable plan with a focus on the foundations of a whole food diet, the inclusion of fiber at each meal, incorporating daily movement, going outside at various times of the day for sunshine, and finding joy in everyday life. Wellness need not be complicated. I teach clients how to get back to basics.

Your first session with Samara

In our first session, I will take the time for us to get to know each other, and truly listen. This will be followed by a deep dive into problematic symptoms a client may be experiencing by going into deeper topics such as home life, relationships, any past traumas, or aspects of their life that seem out of their control, which could be contributing to or potentially causing health issues. I understand the confusion and difficulty in deciphering nutritional claims as the internet allows for a plethora of available information. Sometimes, I get confused about what I should be eating to feel my best too. Thus, in our first meeting, expect to collaborate on a personalized plan to work towards your individualized goals. Despite being a dietitian, I learn from each of my clients. In all of our sessions, I will provide whatever it is you need, whether this be a friend, coach, motivator, therapist, or mentor. We will work together to achieve your dreams!
