About Sara
Nutrition areas of focus: weight loss, vegetarian/vegan diets, food preparation and meal design, body image/neutrality, emotional and stress eating, mental health. Health At Every Size principles, challenges unique to ADHD, and relationship with food. Sara approaches nutrition counseling with a humorous and practical appraisal of your unique challenges. Sara will inspire you to ask questions and develop new small sustainable habits that can change your entire outlook on food and the role it plays in your life. Sara can relate to many of your personal struggles and can meet you where you are without judgement.
Approach to care
Gentle accountability for goals you set, honest assessment of the challenges, and homework for the next session based on what was discussed. Authenticity in our shared human vulnerabilities. Priority is answering your questions and concerns, providing education, and strategies to apply new knowledge to your real life experiences. Collaboration on the best way to reach your nutrition goals and layering of education at each visit to challenge you - not overwhelm you. Topics discussed in-visit will require action outside of visits to move your goals forward. Sara believes in failing upwards and will embrace small steps with you.
Your first session with Sara
Getting to know each other, data collection on your background, and identification of your nutrition goals as priority for visits. Future visits after the initial are discussed at the end of each session with you as the driver β topics to cover and desired scheduling intervals. If you have a chronic health condition Sara does not normally treat (T1DM, T2DM, renal, cancer, or diagnosed GI disease) she will work with you to find a better match with one of Nourish's many specialist RDs if you would like.
