About Sara
Hi, I’m Sara — a Registered Dietitian with 10 years of experience helping people improve their health through evidence-based, compassionate nutrition care. I specialize in medical and surgical weight management, including bariatric nutrition and support for patients using GLP-1 medications and other weight-loss therapies. Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of outpatient and clinical settings, giving me extensive experience with conditions like obesity, insulin resistance, and metabolic syndrome. I’ve guided many patients through the nutrition process before and after bariatric surgery or medical weight loss, helped manage micronutrient needs, and used body composition metrics to make progress easier to understand. I also have significant experience supporting patients through emotional eating, and I enjoy helping people develop realistic meal-planning strategies that fit their lifestyle.
Approach to care
I’m known for my patient-centered approach and for creating a supportive, judgment-free space. My goal is always to make nutrition feel practical and personalized so that you feel motivated —not overwhelmed—as we work toward your health goals together. I strongly believe in empowerment through education. In my experience, helping patients understand their own health concerns — and the “why” behind my nutrition recommendations — sets them up for long-term success. You will never receive a generic meal plan or unrealistic goals from me. Instead, we’ll create a personalized, sustainable approach that truly fits your life.
Your first session with Sara
Our first session is all about getting to know each other. I want to understand who you are not only as a patient, but as a person. We’ll talk about the reason for your visit, your personal health goals, and any past experiences you’ve had (positive or negative) working with a dietitian or nutrition professional. This helps me understand what you’re looking for and how I can best support you moving forward. If possible, keeping a meal log for a few days before our appointment is extremely helpful. Together, we can review your food preferences, allergies or intolerances, dietary patterns, and even your comfort level in the kitchen. This gives me a clearer picture of your daily routines so we can create a personalized plan that fits your life. I begin and end every session by making sure all your questions are answered — your visits are truly your time. Before we wrap up, I’ll leave you with a few realistic goals or “homework” to focus on before your next follow-up.
