Patient reviews
“Sarah is a beautiful person and a knowledgable professional. I had the opportunity to work with her for only a few sessions, but I appreciated the expert guidance and support for the menopause-related issues that brought me to Nourish. I feel empowered and inspired to continue learning about how to best realize my health and wellness goals. I have sung her praises to family and friends :) I will miss her!“

“Sarah absolutely made me feel seen and heard! As a person who is distrusting of doctors and the medical system, Sarah left me with a postive reference point in challenging my reservations. She too made me feel confident and assured I would be cared for. Even though specialities didn't align with my needs, she was prompt in ensuring I get plugged in with someone who is the right fit for me. A brilliant person with a kind soul! I'm glad to have had a session with her. “

About Sarah
With almost 20 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Sarah Amer has empowered thousands throughout her career to reach their health and nutrition goals. She has worked in fitness clubs, private practice, Early Intervention, WIC, retail, and more and is excited to offer the same individualized care through Nourish. As a lifelong learner and passionate advocate for evidence-based nutrition, she holds multiple specialty certifications, including in diabetes, weight management, food sensitivities, food allergies, and food safety. Sarah is also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
Approach to care
Sarah uses a holistic, personalized, and outcomes-based approach to care. True wellness goes beyond just what’s on your plate. As such, Sarah addresses not only nutrition but also equally important factors like sleep, stress, emotional well-being, activity, labs, mindset, habits, and behaviors. Together, you’ll create a comprehensive plan to “nourish” your body, mind, and soul. She also recognizes that no two journeys—or bodies—are alike. She will take the time to identify your unique interests, needs, and concerns and will customize your plan of care accordingly. Lastly, Sarah will work with you to come up with realistic and measurable outcomes to help monitor your progress over time. PLEASE NOTE: Sarah generally recommends 12 or more sessions with her patients depending on their goals and insurance coverage. Since there is typically less than an hour for the first session and there's a lot to cover (see below), nutrition counseling will take place in future sessions.
Your first session with Sarah
Your initial session sets the stage for future sessions and is critical for your success in reaching your goals. Sarah spends this session going over three main areas: 1) HOUSEKEEPING ITEMS: Housekeeping items like insurance, policies, expectations, frequency of appointments, scheduling, communication between sessions, and other helpful information will be reviewed. While you may be eager to get started, going over these items at the start helps avoid surprises and ensures you and Sarah are both on the same page. 2) GETTING TO KNOW YOU: Sarah will obtain detailed information about your nutritional, medical, and biopsychosocial histories, your goals and priorities, and what you hope to achieve during your Nourish sessions. 3) GOAL SETTING: Toward the end of the session, you’ll come up with 1-3 small actionable goals you can immediately start to work on.
