About Sarah

I am a registered dietitian who provides 1:1 medical nutrition therapy with over 10 years of experience. In addition to being a registered dietitian I am also a waitress with over 25 years of experience. I have a love for both people and food! I currently happily reside in Northern Michigan but was raised in a military family and have lived in many different regions within the United States. I hold an Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts from Great Lakes Culinary Institute, and a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Central Michigan University. Throughout my career, I have successfully educated countless people using evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines, resulting in people being able to make informed choices when it comes to meeting their personal health goals through nutrition. I am passionate about helping people understand the power of nutrition while providing an individualized practical approach on how nutrition fits into each person's personal story.

Approach to care

Personalized, Patient-Centered Care. My patients come first. It is important to me as a clinician that I really get to know my patients and their personal experiences with food as well as their personal goals around nutrition. In addition to discussing food, I find it critical to discuss lifestyle factors that affect nutrition and our overall wellbeing such as sleep, stress management, socialization, exercise, avoidance/balance of risky behavior and substance use. All goals that are provided are on my patient's terms. When it comes to nutrition and wellness there are many ways to achieve a common goal. The ultimate goal is sustainable change and increased knowledge, not perfection.
