About Sarah
I’ve been a registered dietitian (RD) for over 10 years because I believe food is a powerful tool for connection and empowerment. My passion for whole-body health and belief in a holistic approach to wellness led me to pursue an additional graduate degree, and I'm currently training to become dually licensed as a therapist. I especially welcome clients seeking personalized nutrition care while recovering from brain-related health events (ex: concussion, traumatic brain injury, or stroke) or navigating a neurodegenerative diagnosis like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, or Multiple Sclerosis. I’m also passionate about supporting clients who want to focus on healthy aging, brain health, and prioritizing nutrition during life transitions.
Approach to care
My approach to care is strengths-based, relational, culturally humble, and gender-affirming. I incorporate motivational interviewing, mindful awareness, and self-compassion into our sessions, believing that nutrition care is most effective when it’s inclusive and patient-driven. I believe everyone is worthy of experiencing safety, connection, and fulfillment. My goal is to foster these experiences during our sessions through gentle guidance, humor, and authenticity. During sessions, I'll draw on my experience across inpatient, outpatient, research, and education settings, while inviting you to share your insights, because you are the expert of your lived experience.
Your first session with Sarah
I'll use a systems approach to assist you in identifying sustainable nutrition goals. I do not believe there is a "one-size-fits-all" approach for nutrition, so I'll collaborate with you to tailor an approach that fits your unique needs. Our initial consultation will include goal setting and creation of an initial nutrition care plan with opportunities for ongoing reflection and adaptation during follow-up sessions.

Education
Double Major in Nutrition and Public Health at Indiana University, Master of Public Health Nutrition at The University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Dietetic Internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Hobbies
Outside of work and graduate school, I refill my cup by spending time with my partner and taking long walks in my neighborhood (usually petting every dog I pass). I also enjoy reading, cooking, and spending time in the woods.
