About Sarah
I've been practicing as a Registered Dietitian since 2017 after completing my Bachelor's degree and dietetic internship at Central Michigan University. I began my career working in long term care where I grew my skills in diabetes management, renal nutrition, and wound care. I later transitioned to public health/WIC, where I provide counseling for prenatal and postnatal nutrition, breastfeeding support, and general nutrition for growing families and children. I am also a mom of 4 little ones myself and understand what it's like managing a busy home life! I enjoy helping others live full and healthy lives at any age, and I can't wait to help you do the same!!
Approach to care
I take a very holistic approach to health and nutrition and will take time learning about your current lifestyle and eating habits to help you develop achievable short term goals. It's important that we talk about your motivation and confidence in meeting your goals as they are both important to your future success. Theodore Roosevelt once said "Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.β I will spend time listening to your concerns and addressing any questions you have before we dive into building your nutrition education. I want to help you enjoy the widest variety of foods possible with the most enjoyment possible in a way that helps you meet your long term health goals!
Your first session with Sarah
We'll start by discussing your general medical and nutrition history and any long term goals you have for yourself. After that we can discuss your current day to day eating patterns and activities and then work together to determine 2-3 short term goals during each session. I like to think of a target with a bullseye in the middle...we've got to learn how to hit the outer rings of the target before we can effectively adjust our aim for the center. I am happy to help create a meal plan for you and provide some recipe and meal ideas, but ultimately want to help you develop the skills and knowledge to navigate meal planning confidently on your own!
