About Sarah
I've been practicing as a Registered Dietitian since 2017 after completing my Bachelor's degree and dietetic internship at Central Michigan University. I began my career working in long term care where I grew my skills in diabetes management, renal nutrition, and wound care. I later transitioned to public health/WIC, where I provide counseling for prenatal and postnatal nutrition, breastfeeding support, and general nutrition for growing families. I am also a mom of 4 little ones myself and understand what it's like managing a busy home life! I enjoy helping others live full and healthy lives at any age, and I can't wait to help you do the same!!
Approach to care
I take a very holistic approach to health and nutrition and will take time learning about your current lifestyle and eating habits to help you develop achievable short term goals. I won't be making you any rigid meal plans to follow, but rather helping you learn about the benefits of including a greater variety of healthy foods in your diet. Because I am so confident in your ability to achieve your goals, I want to start right from the beginning to help you develop lifestyle habits that will allow you to maintain your progress for years to come. Theodore Roosevelt once said "Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.β I care about your success as a person and want to be your cheerleader to help you achieve greater health and wellness.
Your first session with Sarah
We'll start with a broad look at your day to day eating patterns and activities and then we will be able to hone in on high priority areas where you can make impactful changes that will move you towards your long term goals. I like to think of a target with a bullseye in the middle...we've got to learn how to hit the outer rings of the target before we can effectively adjust our aim for the center.
