About Shalissa
Food and science have always guided how I care for people. I earned my MS in Nutrition Science at Idaho State University and have spent two years working as a Registered Dietitian in hospital settings. As a RD I draw on clinical experience to help patients build sustainable, balanced habits that nourish body and mind. When I’m not working I enjoy running, cooking and baking, doing yard work, and spending time with family, which keeps my recommendations practical and life-ready.
Approach to care
I center care on lasting habits, not quick fixes. Grounded in current research, I use an evidence-based lens while keeping things warm and judgment-free. From a Health At Every Size perspective, we’ll focus on behaviors, wellbeing, and realistic actions rather than weight. Together we'll translate science into clear, achievable steps, learn why changes matter, and address the whole person, including emotional and lifestyle factors, so improvements stick long term.
Your first session with Shalissa
Expect a relaxed, low-pressure conversation where we review your medical history and talk through what matters most to you. We'll explore your routines, wins, and frustrations in a judgment-free space, then establish one or two short-term goals together so you leave with a clear, manageable next step. You don’t need all the answers or perfect records. We'll work collaboratively, building a plan that fits your life and feels sustainable.
