About Shannon
Shannon has been a Registered Dietitian for 16 years and has spent most of her career in nutrition counseling and education. She specializes in Pediatrics, Womenβs Health & Weight Concerns and holds a Certificate of Training in Childhood & Adolescent Weight Management. Within Pediatrics, she enjoys helping children with weight concerns, picky eating, food allergies/sensitivities, Autism/ADHD and eating disorders. She also loves helping women navigate concerns ranging from fertility & prenatal nutrition to PCOS & endometriosis. She also spent several years teaching an adult healthy lifestyle class and enjoys helping adults improve their health while navigating the busyness of life.
Approach to care
When it comes to nutrition, Shannon is a strong proponent of balance...whether it be balancing healthy food with pleasurable eating, balancing a tight time or money budget, or balancing emotional health with the benefits of good nutrition. Shannon loves to spend time listening to her patients and helping them to find creative and sustainable ways to problem-solve. She uses a holistic approach that encompasses all aspects of health, including activity, sleep & stress. She also enjoys cooking and meal planning and incorporates these into her sessions as needed.
Your first session with Shannon
During your first visit, you can expect Shannon to ask you a lot of questions about your health, lifestyle and eating habits. She will spend time getting to know you, what your goals are and what motivates you. By the end of the first visit, she will typically help you set one or two goals to start you on your journey to better health.
