About Shannon

As a Registered Dietitian, I am committed to helping families and individuals build sustainable, whole-person wellness that supports body and mind—for today and for generations to come. My approach blends evidence-based nutrition with an East-meets-West lifestyle medicine lens, focusing on root causes rather than quick fixes. Whether you’re a parent wanting to support your child’s healthy growth and prevent chronic disease, or an adult seeking culturally responsive, practical guidance, I offer compassionate, personalized care that makes nourishing meals feel natural and intuitive. As a Chinese American with global training and hands-on farming experience in Italy, I deeply respect traditional foodways and their role in lifelong health. With years of experience in one of the nation’s largest school districts, I specialize in preventive, family-centered care—guiding children through seniors toward steady energy, resilience, and meaningful mealtime connection.

Approach to care

I practice an integrative approach that blends ancestral food wisdom with modern clinical science to uncover what’s driving your symptoms—not just manage them. Together, we look at how meals, daily rhythms, stress, and environment shape digestion, energy, sleep, and focus so your body can return to its natural balance. My way is low and slow—like good food, the best results take time. Real change doesn’t come from extremes; it comes from thoughtful shifts that fit your real life. We move at a pace that feels doable, with structure where helpful and flexibility where needed. You bring your commitment; I bring deep listening, strategy, and steady guidance. Whether you’re building supportive routines at home or rebuilding trust with your own body, you’ll leave with practical tools and insight you can carry forward—feeling more regulated, more confident in your choices, and more connected to how you’re meant to live and eat.

Your first session with Shannon

Your first session is a focused, meaningful conversation—but it’s also a comprehensive intake. We explore what’s happening beneath the surface: patterns in eating, digestion, energy, sleep, stress, family dynamics, and cultural influences that shape your relationship with food. I listen closely, ask direct questions, and look for connections you may not have considered. We define what “better” truly means for you—clear, specific, and grounded in your real life. I will support you, and I will challenge you. Growth requires honesty. You’ll leave with 1–2 targeted shifts to begin immediately—practical steps chosen with intention. We’ll outline a strategic path forward, and you’ll commit to a goal that matters. Clients often finish feeling seen, clear, and motivated—with direction, not just information.

Hobbies

A lot of my hobbies are closely tied to what I do as an RD - because I love being an RD! I enjoy traveling, hiking, and trying out new cultural foods and restaurants, taking photos of it all, then figuring out how to replicate those recipes. I am addicted to the water and being outdoors, especially at the beach where I am learning how to surf. I like to think of myself as the Farmers Market Dietitian, since I am really happy perusing local seasonal produce, while supporting my neighbors. I have a green thumb myself and love gardening and farming. My favorite vegetables (technically a fruit) are tomatoes!
