About Shannon

I am skilled in conducting comprehensive nutrition assessments, developing individualized care plans, and providing nutrition education grounded in the latest peer-reviewed research. My philosophy is simple: everything in moderation. Nutrition should enhance your quality of life, not take away from it. Sustainable progress happens when plans are flexible, enjoyable, and tailored to your unique needs. I approach my work with the belief that we are lifelong learners, continually growing and adapting to reach our fullest potential. My goal is to be a trusted nutrition expert and collaborative partner in your health journey, ensuring you feel heard, supported, and confident in your care. Together, we will create a nutrition plan that prioritizes your goals, respects your habits, and empowers you to take an active role in your health. My focus is on helping you achieve positive, lasting changes that support long-term health and overall well-being.

Approach to care

My philosophy is rooted in a food-first, client-centered approach that honors the whole person—not just a diagnosis or numbers on a chart. I believe food is more than fuel; it is culture, connection, comfort, and care. Nutrition should support health and quality of life without guilt, fear, or unnecessary restriction. Grounded in evidence-based practice, I prioritize whole foods, balanced eating patterns, and practical strategies for long-term health. Supplements may be used when appropriate, but food remains the foundation of nourishment and prevention. All recommendations emphasize flexibility, moderation, and respect for individual preferences and lived experiences. Motivational interviewing guides my work. I believe clients are the experts in their own lives, and meaningful change happens through collaboration. My role is to educate, support, and partner with you, providing compassionate, realistic guidance in a space where you feel respected and empowered.

Your first session with Shannon

In your first session at Nourish, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment centered on your individual needs and goals. We will begin with a discussion of your health history, dietary habits, lifestyle, and nutrition concerns. I will ask about medical history, allergies, medications, lab values if available, and conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, or gastrointestinal issues to ensure recommendations are safe and personalized. We will review your goals—whether related to weight management, energy levels, medical nutrition therapy, enteral feeding adjustments, or improving your relationship with food—along with eating patterns and food preferences. We will also identify barriers such as time, budget, cooking skills, or emotional eating and create a realistic, actionable plan. By the end of the session, you may receive helpful resources, with the goal of building trust and a strong foundation for lasting change.
