About Shannon
My name is Shannon and I’ve been a registered dietitian for over 8 years. From a young age, I loved food and helping people and was fascinated by how what we eat affects our health and performance. That motivated me to study and fall in love with nutrition. I lived in Boston, MA for 9 years, where I trained as a dietitian at Massachusetts General Hospital and got my master's degree at Tufts University. I recently moved back to my hometown of Nashville, TN to be closer to family. I miss the great Italian and seafood in Boston, but at least the bbq is better :)
Approach to care
I believe that helping you meet your health goals starts with a personable, yet professional, relationship as a foundation. I’ll be with you each step of the way as we work together to set realistic goals that support long-term success. I think there are no such things as “good” or “bad” foods and it all comes down to finding the right balance for each individual. Good health involves small, daily decisions that are sustainable, and ultimately food is meant to be enjoyed. However, food is just one piece of the puzzle for long-term health, so I’ll work with you to explore what other factors may be influencing your wellness such as sleep, exercise, hydration, your support network, and more. You are a unique person, so your care should be too.
Your first session with Shannon
In our first session, I’ll focus on getting to know you through asking a range of questions and actively listening to understand how I can best help you reach your goals. I’ll dive deeper to learn more about your eating habits and preferences, your health history, lifestyle and environment, and the “why” behind your health goals—what’s your key motivation. I look forward to working together!
