About Shannon

I’m a dual-licensed physical therapist and registered dietitian, which gives me a unique lens on how nutrition, movement, and recovery intersect. Because of this background, I especially enjoy working with people who are recovering from injuries or surgeries, staying active in fitness or sport, or navigating changes in their bodies across different life stages. My clinical interests include disordered eating, diabetes and cardiovascular health, menopause and major life transitions, adolescent and young adult nutrition, and individuals who are starting or currently using GLP-1 medications — along with everything in between. I’m originally from Nebraska but moved to the PNW to complete my nutrition education and quickly realized I never wanted to leave. Outside of work, I love hiking and backpacking, skiing, biking, and climbing. When I’m not outdoors, you’ll usually find me reading, experimenting with a new recipe, or planning my next trip.

Approach to care

My approach to care is collaborative, educational, and individualized. I place a strong emphasis on helping you understand why we’re making certain nutrition decisions so you feel confident applying them in your own life. I aim for changes that are realistic, sustainable, and aligned with your goals — often starting small and building over time. I practice from a Health at Every Size®–aligned perspective while also valuing objective and subjective indicators of health. This may include lab work or body composition data alongside factors like energy levels, symptoms, performance, and overall well-being. Above all, I want nutrition care to feel like a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space. My goal is for our work together to feel empowering, practical, and even enjoyable.

Your first session with Shannon

Your first session is about getting to know you — not just your nutrition habits. We’ll spend most of our time talking through your history, current challenges, lifestyle, and goals, as well as the experiences that have shaped your relationship with food and health up to this point. Humans are complex, and there’s rarely one single factor that brings someone to nutrition counseling. Together, we’ll start to uncover the key pieces that matter most right now and use them to guide our next steps. By the end of the session, we’ll collaboratively identify a few clear, actionable goals or focus areas to work on moving forward. You’ll leave with direction, clarity, and a plan that feels both manageable and aligned with where you want to go.
